Welcome Home

Robert Brault once said, ~Senseless tragedy remains forever tragic, but its up to us whether it remains forever senseless.~ Without a doubt, it's impossible to understand why senseless tragedies happen, especially when it involves innocent kids who did absolutely nothing wrong. For its a difficult and sad situation indeed to be sitting, as well as watching the events unfold on television. Yet, not so much for the parents who are living a nightmare as they lost their child/children due to a cowardly act of senseless brutality by a man who doesn't deserve the spotlight. Essentially, there is quite possibly a roller coaster of emotions each one of us are experiencing because of how it has immensely affected us even though we don't know them on a personal level.

If you think about it, you have to be amazed at how a nation comes together when a horrific tragedy such as this occurs. You see, it doesn't matter what race, religion, color, creed, political affiliation, etc. you are as long as we become one in regards to the cause of coming together in supporting the families of Newton, Connecticut. Thinking about it further, there should not be anything politically attached to this unfortunate situation as it most definitely turns the attention away from what really matters...the loss of innocent loves both young and adult. Granted, the topic of gun control will be discussed but where the focus should be is on the support of the families who lost what is most valuable and not to mention priceless in this world that can never be replaced.

As I said before, there is quite possibly a roller coaster of emotions each one of us are experiencing because of how it has immensely affected us even though we don't know them on a personal level. Of course, as a parent you can't help but be personally and emotionally invested in this knowing it could have been your own child, which is truly unimaginable. The lives of 6 adults and 20 children will no longer be able to spend Christmas with their loved ones and what about the presents meant for them under the Christmas tree> True, it's going to greatly affect the parents/families not just emotionally but mentally, personally, and spiritually. However, the thoughts and prayers of complete strangers are being sent from all around the world hoping they are heard loud and clear in Newton, CT.

Revelations 2:4 says, ~And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, not crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.~ Let me ask you this question as it pertains to the senseless tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School, has this situation caused you to not only cherish what is most important, but thanking God for having him/her/them in your life? Hey, it's a sad state of affairs when a painful event such as this brings to reality and puts into perspective what's been totally lacking these days. Tears will be shed, anger will be felt, questions will be constantly asked as to why this happened but ultimately what needs to happen is for everyone to turn their eyes upon The Lord Jesus Christ more than ever.

In retrospect, there comes a point where we as individuals want to help in any way possible like giving donations to help the victims of the families. The possibilities are endless when we open our hearts for a cause that brings anyone to tears. Personally speaking, I took what happened in Newton as deeply personal because for 12 years or so I worked with kids and though I don't know them I can't help being emotionally invested. Unfortunately, we may never know the sick and twisted reasons why those 20 kids and 6 adults were brutally murdered. Only God knows. The dastardly and despicable actions of that who shall not be named will answer to The Lord Almighty. In the end, even though it's a time of sadness we know they are all in Heaven with God who stood at the pearly gates saying with a smile on His face the following two words...welcome home.
