One's life can be somewhat like a movie, though the story may not relate to the music within it. Here's a question, have you ever watched a movie and wondered how they picked the songs for that particular movie? The right script combined with the right songs can either make or break a movie and determine box office success or disaster. But one's life isn't a movie, it's real life with a cast of characters that he or she knows and grew up with. Yet, the songs that are selected which define a movie can also define one's own life.
Life can certainly be one big adventure where a person can oftentimes feel like they're in a non-stop action and or adventure movie. The perfect songs to add in one's library are Bring Me To Life by Evanescence, Sammy Hagar's 55 and White Zombie's Never Gonna Stop. But more than anything, one must simply have in his or her song selection os Steppenwolf's Born to Be Wild in which the opening lyrics open with get your motor running. If you think about it, the minute we are born, our adventures are just beginning.
Our lives can also have tragedies where certain people close to us pass on. Inevitably, the songs associated with that particular person stay with us and have sentimental value. Such songs which can describe this could be My Immortal by Evanescence and Diamond Rio's One More Day. Yet, tragedies not only affect us but people we hardly even know. Take Sept. 11, 2001, and the song that defined everyone's life was Alan Jackson's song Where Were You. Tragedies can make us think about what's more important in our lives and that song proved it.
There will always be that one song that defines a movie, and in a way, will define our lives. Potential/Significant relationships and relationships in general are always the main focus. Countless songs that one could add into their personal library would be Avril Lavigne's I'm With you; Aerosmith's I Don't want to Miss a Thing; Goo Goo Dolls’ Iris; Bryan Adams' Everything I do(I Do it For You); Hero by Chad Kreoger and Josey Scott, the list goes on and on. I ask you this, what song defines your life right now?
Thinking about it, some of the songs that describe my life are the following: The Cowboy In Me by Tim McGraw; 55 by Sammy Hagar; Insane In Da Membrane by Cypress Hill; Party Up by DMX(an anthem where I work at); Numb by Linkin Park, I'm With You by Avril Lavigne; Right Here Waiting For You by Richard Marx; I Can't Dance by Genesis; I Don't To Miss A Thing by Aerosmith and to round it off, the song that defines my life at the moment is Feelin' Way To Good by Nickelback. In a nutshell, that is my soundtrack of life, so what is yours?
