In Case You Didn't Know

Booker T. Washington once said, ~Living is the act of loving. Loving is the act of caring. Caring is the acting of sharing. Sharing is the act of living. If you want to lift yourself up, lift someone else up.~ If you think about it, when it comes to being in a strong, worthwhile relationship there are countless ways to express how much one cares/loves their significant other without actually saying the words out loud. A type of unspoken love language that can be heard loud and clear between two people who are able to be on the same wavelength, so to speak, with each other. For it’s a uniquely intriguing situation indeed in being able to convey one’s thoughts, feelings, and/or emotions in such a positively, uplifting way to another human being that he/she not only understands it, but gets the message as well.

Let me ask this question to those who are in a strongly committed relationship. Have you ever wanted to say out loud how much you truly cared for/loved the guy/girl in question only to second guess themselves and not say anything at all? Oftentimes, it’s incredibly challenging if you’re not the type of person who has difficulty in being able to verbally express what’s been mentally, as well as emotionally weighing on one’s heart and mind. Yet, it’s that same challenge of professing one’s love can certainly be achieved by writing a letter/poem that encapsulates how truly lucky and appreciative you are for having him/her in your life without having it sound corny or sappy. I think it’s safe to say most women would rather want/have corny and sappy instead of an over the top grand gesture that ends up potentially causing embarrassment.

Without a doubt, every guy has had the same thought pop into their head before being in a relationship about how the possibility of the single life was far better spent living it to the fullest. Hey, it’s an honest belief and not to mention mindset to hold on to as they’ve enjoyed the reign of freedom to do what they wanted with their best buds in tow without supposedly being held back from living their best life. However, that same thought was quickly set aside knowing they were lying to themselves. Why? Essentially, every guy comes to a realization that the life they were living before paled in comparison to the life they’re living now with their better half. What it primarily comes down to is knowing their life became 10 times better after meeting the woman who instantly captured their heart years ago who they’re absolutely crazy about.

As I said before, when it comes to being in a strong, worthwhile relationship there are countless ways to express how much one cares/loves their significant other without actually saying the words out loud. Although it’s not considered to be high on the list, passing gas will never be an acceptable exchange of unspoken love for women. Sorry fellas. Of course, there is a loophole that if it’s done back by her with a much stronger potency then she’s a keeper. Hey, it’s just a matter of having a sense of good intentioned, heartfelt humor that if it ends up leaving an uplifting smile on her face then it’s viewed as a victory in the guy’s book. Thinking about it further, by creating a type of communication based on a sense of good intentioned, heartfelt humor that’s playfully uplifting it helps form an even stronger bond between two people.

Someone said, ~Caring for someone is easy. But to make someone care for you is difficult. So, never lose the one who cares for you. In retrospect, men and women will always have different ways of communicating their love for one another. Granted, it can most definitely be frustrating for any woman who wants to know and be validated by their significant other as it pertains to his thoughts, feelings, and emotions about her. Ultimately, there is no need in making it overly complicated or difficult because the best moments in a relationship have a tendency to happen organically instead of having it forced. In the end, it’s that aforementioned organic moment that will happen unexpectedly when you’re taken by the hand, look you in the eyes, and say the following words: in case you didn’t know this is how I feel about you. A song that reflects this thought is by a newcomer to country music, Brett Young with Boy II Men on CMT's show Crossorads.
