Labor of Love

Someone once said,~Cosplaying is something we love doing whether as a couple or individually, so we really give each other the freedom to choose whoever as long as we’re enjoying it.~ Let me ask you this question, are you a person who enjoys cosplaying as your favorite tv/movie/video game character, especially when it involves attending a convention or otherwise known as a con? If you answered yes then its certainly safe to say it would truly be an enjoyable to have your forever best friend by your side to experience together the oftentimes insanely crazy and astonishingly mesmerizing word of cosplay. Essentially, when it comes to cosplay there's an innately interesting parallel indeed pertaining to relationships in the following 3 areas: idea, creation, and commitment.

If you think about it, the initial idea of what character you want to cosplay as can most definitely be either an easy or difficult decision to make. In other words, a number of variables can be taken into account from the character's overall costume, costume malfunctions, weather conditions, etc. can have a detrimental effect on one's cosplay experience. In a sense, that level of decision previously mentioned should be implemented before ever choosing to be part of a dynamic duo, so to speak. Granted, the idea of true happiness may be seen as astonishingly amazing, but if you're not taking into account those unseen insanely crazy variables such as utter heartbreak, frustration, anger, sadness, worry, fear, doubt, bitterness, disappointment, etc. you're not really ready to face that type of madness just yet.

As I said before, it would truly be an enjoyable to have your forever best friend by your side to experience together as a dynamic duo the oftentimes insanely crazy and astonishingly mesmerizing word of cosplay. Of course, creating the cosplay from scratch rather than buying it online makes the frustratingly painstaking effort, time, and patience working on it all worth it, especially when other cosplayers want to take pictures of or be pictured with you. Thinking about it further, when it comes to a strong, worthwhile relationship that is created from scratch you know that putting in effort, time, trust, patience, intimacy faith, honesty, respect, loyalty, understanding, communication, commitment, etc. without having to resort to any mental or emotional shortcuts, which is considered a rarity these days in matters of the heart.

Without a doubt, it takes a tremendous amount of commitment in wanting to create and go as the character you've chosen to cosplay as. Hours, days, weeks, and even months have been dedicated in planning something out that only ends up being worn for only a few days at full display for others cosplayers to see. Thinking about it further, you don't want to rush the process because mistakes can be made, which inevitably become lessons learned . In that same mindset, if you are serious and want to be in a committed relationship then don't rush into it too fast because there's plenty of room to make and then learn from those mistakes together. However, don't ever be afraid to at least try to take a risk instead of quitting altogether because you don't want to be seen as a failure by the person you've committed yourself to.

In retrospect, there's a youthful longevity in the connection between cosplay and relationships in regards to a certain someone special. For the question can be asked, are you ever too old to cosplay? No. You see, in 2014 a couple by the name of Steve and Milli Tani who have been married for 27 years stumbled onto the wonderful word of cosplay, which sparked an idea. Since they're new found discovery they've cosplayed as a number of characters like Steve Rogers/Captain America-Peggy Carter, Han Solo-General Leia, Carl-Ellie, etc. In the end, that's the very definition of relationship goals as it should start out initially as an idea, then have it slowly created with a labor of love and if that commitment never wavers then they'll be considered an unstoppable dynamic duo in this cosplay convention representing the dating/relationship life.
