One Step Closer

Each one of us has or has had an ultimate goal in life that he or she has been chasing after since one was a kid. As the saying goes by Kasey Kasem, keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for the stars. It's every person's dream to make it big in a particular business that can either make you a somebody or yesterday's news in a manner of speaking. It's just a matter of having that fire within yourself to keep burning no matter what. In a way, one has to continue to climb up his or her personal Mt. Everest.

Achieving one's ultimate goal is like climbing a mountain. When one stands at the base, he or she will look up and realize that it's not going to be easy by any means. It will take heart, souls, guts, determination, and that never say die attitude to reach the top of the mountain. It's really unknown how long it will take for one to continually climb that proverbial ladder in order to reach the pinnacle of one's dream. In retrospect, one just has to pace themselves and he or she will get there in due time.

Sometimes one will have several setbacks when climbing the mountain that has their so called "prize" waiting for them. Such factors are the weather which can blow a person in many different directions and can literally beat down a person into submission. If you think about it, "The Powers That Be," in music and/or entertainment can lead you in every direction but up. A person has to constantly keep that safety line close at hand for at any time his or her rope, like their dream, can be cut off in an instant.

Fame and/or fortune, it's those two things that can drive a person into becoming what they want to be, a celebrity. Yet, does one want to become a celebrity with all the paparazzi hounding you and one's privacy being invaded all year round? It's basically up to that person and it's also the price one pays if he or chooses that life. Let me ask you this question and answer truthfully, would fame and fortune change you if you made it big? One just has to experience it for themselves if or when it happens in the near future.

Last Friday, the Olympics games began and people from around the world came together for the spirit of competition. Though some may or may not achieve that goal of winning gold, they at least climbed their own personal mountain to get there. My goal in life has always been to work for Disney in Orlando, and several days ago I found out my chance is close at hand. I'm still climbing up my mountain and you know what, I'm just one step closer in fulfilling a life-long dream that I have had since I was a kid.
