The Fast Lane

Each of our lives are constantly moving on a daily basis. It's basically a constant cycle that repeats itself over and over again which can make any person tear out their own hair. It's a face paced world we all live in but there are times we just need to slow down and catch our breath. In between our hectic schedules, appointments, and family obligations, a person needs to live a little and enjoy life. It's an age-old tradition in which everybody has done at one time or another as kids and as adults.

Terms would define it as calling in sick, ditching, cutting, call it what you will, each of us needs a day off every now and then. The constant pressures of one's own life can be a little overwhelming. Sometimes it takes only one day to rest our weary minds and bones to be rejuvenated for the following day. Some may disagree, it may depend on the job and the number of days one seeks to completely feel rested. Each of us will be alot happier, calmer, saner and as the saying goes, it's just what the doctor ordered.

One must stop and smell the roses so to speak and just slow down. Life can be like a lion waiting in the shadows ready to pounce on its intended prey. We've all had those days where the daily grind of going to the same place and seeing the same people every day just makes a person go nuts. The time away from a place that can literally make one go mad is a good way to come back as a new man or woman. In retrospect, if we don't use the opportunity to our advantage, mass homicide will run rampant.

For there is a method to one's madness as he or she uses the tricks of the trade learned over the years. It's a skill that every person uses in one's own daily life to this day. Though one must keep all the proverbial bases covered and not run the risk of being exposed. In some ways, the deception can be somewhat of an adrenaline rush as that person hopes he or she can get away with it. In the back of one's own mind, the repercussions are considered if being caught red handed, so to speak.

In some ways, life is like driving in the fast lane. We spend our days trying to pass every other person on the road to get to where we want to be. One will eventually get to their intended destination, but not after suffering the occasional flat tires, speeding tickets and fender benders. A person every now and then has to stop and look at where he or she is. Ferris Beuhler said it best, "Life moves pretty fast, if you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss out. get to where we want to be.
