Awakened

Harrison Ford's iconic Star Wars character Han Solo epically said, ~Chewie, we're home.~ Without a doubt, those three words softly spoken and the sound of Chewbacca's oh so familiar growl at the end of the THE most anticipated movie trailer legitimately brought back in an instant the little kid in every adult Star Wars fan who watched it. Fans all around the world including myself completely lost our mind with the appearance of two beloved characters, whereby establishing the fact of a mind blowing reality in which a movie has the innate power to instantly bring back to life one's own childhood with such an immense impact all thanks to famed director J.J. Abrams. For it's a nostalgic situation indeed to know the trio of Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, and Mark Hamill who started it all 38 years ago have reprised their roles once again 32 years later after Return of the Jedi ended.

As I said before, fans all around the world including myself completely lost our mind with the appearance of two beloved characters whereby establishing the fact of a mind blowing reality in which a movie has the innate power to instantly bring back to life one's own childhood with such immense an impact all thanks to famed director J.J. Abrams. Of course, he has brought his own personal sense of flair that he's known for and at the same time stuck with the essence of what Star Wars is all about, which countless fans were considerably worried about along with it's association with Disney. Fortunately, Abram's efforts have paid off to the point where grown adults have quite literally been brought to tears when the first trailer was released evident by the reactions of many Star Wars fans on YouTube, which is certainly entertaining to watch being a fan myself.

If you think about it, the crazed frenzy that the new Star Wars movie has unleashed on my generation who grew up watching the original trilogy has proudly been passed down to the new generation who have quickly become fans as well. Essentially, it's become a "like my father before me" type mentality passing on a birthright in the form of in all intents and purposes the force of all the emotions and feelings felt back in the day to potential padawans who'll grow up to either make their allegiances with the Sith or Jedi. Unfortunately, there are some individuals who just don't get it and flatly think the overwhelming fan craze is just plain stupid i.e. Fox News reporter/comedian Katherine Timpf. According to her, we're "crazy", "uncool", and "unattractive". As much as I want to give a scathing retort to her opinion, it's not worth it because it brings her deserving attention knowing full well it's what she wants in order to make/keep herself relevant.

Let me ask you this question to my fellow Star Wars fans out there, how many of you have bought your tickets and are going to see the movie on the 17th or wait till the 18th? Plus, will any of you be doing the Star Wars Marathon at the theaters too? I think it's safe to say the anticipation is at a fever pitch so much so merchandise have been selling like crazy, tickets have instantly sold out to where websites have crashed and not to mention people are already waiting in line for days now to be the first ones in the theater such as in California. Granted, it's considered to be a tradition thus dubbing what will be known as "The Line Awakens". Personally speaking , I've never done it but on the whole it's a great opportunity to meet fellow fans who share the same enthusiasm even going so far as dressing up for the movie. What it primarily comes down to is simply embracing the pure joy and child-like excitement of this movie on the midnight early release or opening day.

In retrospect, Star Wars: A New Hope premiered on May 25th, 1977 and 3 months after that I was born. Coincidence? I think not. Seriously though, when it comes to a movie that is The Force Awakens you can't help but smile because part of your childhood is returning to the big screen. You see, memories from your childhood live on regarding the original trilogy and new memories will be created once we all watch together the new trilogy inevitably stirring within us emotions, as well as feelings we haven't genuinely felt for a very long time. True, there were the prequels but that is an entirely different trilogy altogether bringing with it a wave of mixed emotions. Ultimately, it's just a matter of patience and the time is close at hand with the countdown being 11 days - 14 hours - 38 minutes - 14 seconds. In the end, what has been awakened in each and every fan of Star Wars cannot and will not be silenced giving way to a much stronger, powerful force than anything that will ever be felt like before.
