I Gotta Have It

The late Steve Jobs once said, ~ The overall point is that new technology will not necessarily replace old technology, but it will date it. By definition, it will replace it. But it's like people who had black and white TV's when color came out. They eventually decided whether or not the new technology was worth the investment.~ Without a doubt, we live in the technological age as the devices each one of us are so accustomed to having at our fingertips to the point where it can become impossible at times to put down. For it's a tough situation indeed to control one's self because attaining the newest form of technology can truly be addicting, especially for those individuals who have the must/need/want mentality in regards to getting the newest upgrade coming out.

If you think about it, when it comes to the technological marvel that is the cell phone it gets updated practically every other week with so many features added on. In the past, it was a fairly simple and new concept but now everyone has one in their possession. It inevitably received an upgrade with the advent of something that would most definitely change the course of how we communicate with each other. How so? Well, a conversation between family members or friends for that matter are now oftentimes done through text messages while not only in the same vicinity of one's household, but quite possibly sitting next to/across from each other as you chow down together. Hey, as funny as that sounds you know it is true because you're guilty of doing it knowing full well you can just walk over/look up and talk to the person.

As said before, the cell phone is certainly a technological marvel leading it to seemingly be updated every other week with new features. I think it would be safe to say when the powers that be were able to somehow feature internet capabilities with the use of your cell phone, it was brought to a whole new level. The information superhighway becoming portable and instead of going to your nearest library in order to use the internet to look up information, calling your best buds/gal pals to get the 411, or whatever the case may be you instantly had it at your disposal. Hey, its a considerable time saver for any individual who needs a piece of information in a pinch, especially if a debate needs to be settled concerning a particular random topic being discussed.

Let me ask you this question, back in the day would you ever in your wildest dreams thought you could actually watch television or even movies on your cell phone? My answer is no because we all had that initial mindset of the television watch ala The Jetson. Fortunately, it has happened causing you to become one very happy camper who is unable to be at home because they're stuck at the office, in traffic, jury duty, a boring class, etc. Ultimately, one's entertainment value fits in the palm of your hand, can practically be taken anywhere, and when done it just fits in your pocket. Thinking about it further, for any guys who are die hard sports fans and hate to leave in the middle of watching an intense football game to go to dinner they can watch it on their phone, which may not sit well with their wife/girlfriend if they find out. Proceed with caution fellas.

In retrospect, technology will always get updated and devices such as a laptop computer, video game system, flat screen television, Kindles, Tablets, etc. are going to continue to be in demand. The consumer has an insatiable appetite involving the newest technological device that far surpasses it's previous predecessor. You have to be truly amazed at what the powers that be are capable of when creating the next big thing in cell phones and with such creations as the video phone, voice recognition where it can actually talk back to you, and so much more the possibilities are endless. In the end, I know every person has that same thought whenever a commercial pops up involving a new Apple Iphone, Motorola Droid, LG Smartphone, Nexus S4G causing them to stand in line for hours on end...I gotta have it.
