Silence Is Golden

Erma Bombeck once said, ~Some emotions don't make a lot of noise. It's hard to hear pride. Caring is real faint-like a heartbeat. And pure love-why some days it's so quiet, you don't even know its there.~ If you think about it, when it comes to matters of the heart every person wants to experience a sense of peaceful silence with someone special and for a many number of people they're experiencing it right now as we speak. It's a type of peaceful silence in which the serene sounds of true happiness aren't necessarily expressed out loud but rather in a quiet, relaxed manner. For it’s a calming situation indeed to be in a truly happy relationship where so many emotions/feelings sound off like silent fireworks within your heart that you alone can hear loud and clear.

As said before, there is a sense of peaceful silence when experiencing true happiness to the point where a soft distinct sound is heart that can initially describe the feelings/emotions you have for a potential and/or significant other without even saying a single word. A simple soft sigh may not make a lot of noise but if it's followed by a smile it can most definitely get your attention. You see, a simple soft sigh can express out loud emotions/feelings of contentment, happiness, joy, caring, tenderness, commitment, trust, respect, excitement, trust, honesty, etc. Thinking about it, it's those particular silent sounds of love/true love that considerably drowns out the noisy drama to where it's no longer heard, which is what one wants in a relationship.

Without a doubt, when drama happens it does make a lot of noise causing a person to be unable to hear, so to speak, not only emotionally but mentally as well. It's a sad state of affairs when you're not able to think straight or describe what you're feeling because of how noisy the drama is, especially if it involves heartbreak causing you to let out a sigh. Essentially, it's that sigh in which emotions/feelings such as confusion, frustration, bitterness, utter contempt, disappointment, anger, apprehension, indecisiveness, doubt, worry, sadness, etc. can clearly be heard by others. I think it would be safe to say that for those who are dealing with issues involving heartbreak, your head, as well as heart are filled with so much noisy negativity that it's difficult to keep a smile on your face.

Let me ask you this question to those who are in a significant relationship, how many of you are enjoying the silence of love/true love with a guy/girl who gives you peace both mentally and emotionally. Oftentimes, being able to be together alone and doing something like sitting on the beach watching a sunset are considered treasured unspoken moments of silence. For a certain number of people the inner solace that is shared together with their best friend even when separated from him/her shows that their presence is always felt within their heart no matter where he/she is. Let me tell you something, to have that strong peaceful connection with someone where instead of hearing the noise of drama within your heart you hear the steady, tranquil sound of two hearts beating as one.

Someone said, ~Life is so ironic to understand fully. It takes sadness to know what happiness is. Noise to distinguish silence and a broken heart to find true love.~ In retrospect, to those who have found/met the person who makes him/her happy, they have God to thank for being able to keep them from not letting the soothing sound of hope and faith be drowned out by the oftentimes loud sound of sarcastic, cynicism that tends to ring very loudly in the ears of those of us such as myself who would like someday hear what true happiness actually sounds like. In the end, silence is golden for those lucky enough to have a kind of love that continually makes noise, in a good way of course, in the quiet comfort of each other's heart.
