Happily Ever After

Most of us have come to the point where the possibility of finding true happiness is just a mere fairy tale. A fairy tale that can either have a happy ending or no ending at all. Though it may be fitting for those that have found their Prince Charming or Cinderella, others are still searching. Ladies wonder if their prince charming will ride in and both will ride off into the proverbial sunset. For guys, it's just a matter of finding that one special person whose foot fits the glass slipper left behind at the ball so to speak.

But the question remains, would a life of solace and wonder be the best alternative as one travels down the highways and byways of life? Who knows, life is all about unpredictability. Someone once said, "In order for one to find happiness, one must suffer a few sorrows. Each of us at one time or another have suffered sorrows which tear at the heartstrings, so to speak. Yet, we persevere and fight the good fight in a manner of speaking. One can call it a setback, but it's a setback that makes every person stronger and able to move forward in their lives.

For we all have looked up at the star filled night sky and pondered if "the one" is out there. It's a constant guessing game of when our day will come and when he or she will cross our path. For those we know and associate with continually find special connections. Connections that may or may not last in the long run, but it's a connection nonetheless. But do the qualities that makes a person who they are count in the end? As the saying goes, Would the proverbial "nice guy" finish last as usual, or does it even matter?

In retrospect, a person must inevitably be comfortable with who they are as a person. The questions come so easily for us but the answers we seek are hard to come by. Nobody knows the outcome of our future and who we will spend it with for the rest of our lives. But if the happiness we seek never turns up, our friends and family will fill that proverbial void. For each of us feel incomplete in a way, like missing a piece in a giant puzzle. It's just a matter of finding that one special piece to one's heart that will complete the puzzle of our lives. IF one wants a more romantic interpretation, that one special person has the key to unlock his or her heart.

In the end, it's just a matter of letting nature run its course. For if our lives were like a hollywood movie, we could simply write our own happy ending. Prince charming will ride in and the glass slipper will fit perfectly and all is well. On paper it seems plausible, for in reality we are in control of our lives and our futures. Who knows what is down the road for all of us, for each of our stories are still being written. There will come a time and day where each of us will have our own storybook ending. An ending, which is also a new beginning, will hopefully one day will simply read.... Happily Ever After.
