The Perfect Gift

Someone once said, ~The joy of brightening others lives, bearing each other's burdens, easing other's loads and supplanting empty hearts and lives with generous gifts become for us the magic of Christmas.~ Without a doubt, you can feel in the air as there is excitement and anticipation on an upcoming event that not only brings children joy but also the little kid inside every grown adult as well. You can't help but love Christmas as we all look forward to give and receive gifts for/from family, friends, a significant other, co-workers, and/or acquaintances. Let me ask you this question, when it comes to gift giving is money no object for that person or persons?

Essentially, every person knows what to get that certain someone who he or she has known or worked with for quite some time. Its just a matter of picking up on the clues as to what that particular persons interest are or interested in and working your way from there. Personally speaking, there have been two people that I work with who have been at the Asylum since I started and I know them pretty well to give them gifts they both would like. My best friend is a huge miami fan and anything that involves miami is his cup of tea, so to speak. My mentor, who taught me everything I know, loves Dr. Suess and anything that smells good such as incense, perfume, candles, soaps which she has already gotten by way of the kids of the Asylum.

Here's a little known fact, did you its toughest to shop for men that it is for women. Why? Well, men tend to get the same gifts when it falls either under their birthday, Father's Day, or Christmas, which are clothing such as ties or tools. If you think about its hard to shop for a man that sometimes says he doesn't want anything and for you just to save your money when you really need it, which gives that much more of an incentive to get dear old dad something that shows the family he is greatly appreciated. Whether its a BBQ grill the size of the Titanic or the George Forman Grill show the man in your life how you truly care about him.

Women, on the other hand, are typically easy to shop for because much of the products are advertized either on billbaords, tv, movies, the internet, as well as, magazines. As a guy, you can't go two steps without something hitting your peripheral vision on what a woman would like. On of those things that usually gets every guy's attention in commercials pertains to a woman's best friend which are diamonds. It would be safe to say that when I immediately said that, every woman's eyes immediately lit up with a smile and every guy, who may be reading this beside her, just slapped themselves in the forehead. Sorry guys, my bad.

In retrospect, gifts can come in all shapes, forms, and sizes to where the price tag is from reasonable to down right rediculious. So rediculous that you either have to put your house up as collateral or be a very rich person like Donald Trump. However the best gift you can every receive or give doesn't cost anything due to the fact it comes from your heart to people or that special someone. Its a gift that shows you're thinking about him or her and that you truly care enough that you simply gave of yourself. This Christmas 2005 give the gift that keeps on giving, for that gifts is love, which is, in the end, considered the perfect gift and a song that reflects this thought is by 98 Degress entitled This Gift.
