More Than Just Words

In some way, our lives can be somewhat compared to a Hollywood movie that is in post production. If you think about it, each of us is a writer, director, and lead actor/actress of our proverbial script of life. No matter how embarrassing, corny, frustrating, weird, strange, and/or stupid one's own life can be, we live it day by day. One must accept the responsibility given to us because as the head writer, we are in control of what is written or not being written in the movie that we call our life.

We've all at some point wanted to rewrite certain situations or aspects of our life that were considered unmemorable and never wanted to be relived again. If each of us had the ability to go back in time, we simply would yell "CUT" and talk with ourselves on what we should do differently in that particular situation. One could only dream of that happening, but one just has to realize that the past pages of one's script has already been written and there is no point in trying to rewrite it over again.

Let me ask you this question, if you had the choice to pick a celebrity to play you who would be that one person? For we want that one person who is believable and convincing enough that he or she is each of us and conveys the words written on each page. In some ways, each of us wants to choose that particular actor or actress that best suits our own personality. In some aspects, the decision you make as a director/writer can determine if you have an academy award winning script or one that never sees the light of day.

As each of our scripts are still being written, a person will meet one's potential leading man or leading lady to fill that all important starring role opposite ourselves. If you think about it, each of us are still waiting for that position to be filled. Yet, as each of us meet potential leads to co-star will us, chemistry can oftentimes play a big part. It's that chemistry that can determine whether or not one wants to continue a partnership of sorts, which in the long run, may become permanent as time goes by.

In the whole scheme of things, our lives would be a whole lot simpler if we could continually yell, cut at any time and fix problems with just a simple stroke of a keyboard, pen, or pencil. For good memories would be kept in and out with the bad memories. In one's own mind it would work, but in reality, we have to look forward and keep writing our own personal story. In the end, what's written down on the pages of life are more than just words, they're our past, present, and future that each of us personally lived through or will through.
