That Ole' Familiar Feeling

Each of us at one time or another has had that ole' familiar feeling. A feeling in which a certain vibe/connection that draws us to certain people. It's a feeling best described as seeing someone for the first time and everything around that person is blurry. Time simply stands still or is in slow motion like in a scene from a movie. The question is, is it merely an infatuation or is it something more?

For that person is a bright shining star and yet that star is unreachable. You chase after that one bright star among a sea of stars. For we all have been there as we look from afar and have those uncontrollable nervousness, sweaty hands, and the sleepless nights looking up at one's ceiling. For one often thinks, rethinks, and thinks again of the endless possibilities of might be and what might not be. Should one take the risk and put it all on the line so to speak for one's own happiness? But what of the person, will they feel the same way or merely "shoot" those intentions to the ground and be riddled with bullets.

In retrospect, one or the other may not share the same intentions. For either may have differences in views, differences in entertainment values, and may have differences in one's own thinking. At times it may seem like a lost cause to go with one's feelings due to one's own personal baggage we all are carrying so to speak. Our past determines the relationships of the present and into the future. Call it kismet, destiny, or fate, but in my own view it's a matter of chance that certain people meet and have a vibe or connection. Though the vibe or connection may feel strange at first, one must learn to go with one's gut and either do two things:

1. Move forward and see what happens. If nothing comes of it at least an initial response was given.

Or

2. Never go with that gut feeling and always regret never taking that risk. Always looking to the past and wondering what might have been.

In the end, it's just a matter of what one does with that feeling that will determine which road that person will take. I ask you this question, when was the last time you had......that ole’' familiar feeling?
