Through thick and thin friends are there for each other through hard times and easy times. We have each other's backs, sort of brotherhood/sisterhood so to speak. If compared to it would be like a clique, the Breakfast Club meets Saved By The Bell mixed in with Beverly Hills 90210. Only we're not actors, or getting paid, or have a hit tv show, it's basically a group of friends that picks each other up when he/she is down, gives advice, listens to each other when one needs to vent.
It's a relationship like no other where stupidity runs rampant in a circle that is considered to be tight as glue. I don't know about the female relationship, but the male relationship is a simple one and doesn't need explaining. Thinking is not a part of our forte for it gets in the way of enjoying things like sports or not thinking at all. Different personalities clicking in one group yet share different points of view, styles, and likes. Yet we all share a common bond and that bond can be tested at any time.
For we all have those unique quarks that can get on people's nerves. It's a quality that friends have learned to live with and even work around. It's a surprise that there hasn't been a homicide of sorts where one or the other hasn't strangled each other. Pushing buttons is always the norm in a clique but there is always a time when one knows when to back off. Long periods of time have been spent chillin' with them and one knows them better than one knows themselves and vice versa.
For there is always one in each group. The loner, the player, the chatterbox, the goofball, the daredevil, the motherly/fatherly type etc, there's always one in each group One may not see it but there are. It's a friendship when one looks back at it and thinks to oneself, "How did we all become friends?" It's a funny thing about life, the people we meet along our travels can sometimes point you in the right direction. While traveling, you get to know the passengers in the car and a kinship is formed without evening knowing it.
Let me leave you with this intersting thought. "Friends will help you move, but best friends will help you move a body. Just something to think about.
