Through thick and thin friends are there for each other through hard times and easy times. We have each other's backs, sort of brotherhood/sisterhood so to speak. If compared to it would be like a clique, the Breakfast Club meets Saved By The Bell mixed in with Beverly Hills 90210. Only we're not actors, or getting paid, or have a hit tv show, it's basically a group of friends that picks each other up when he/she is down, gives advice, listens to each other when one needs to vent.
It's a relationship like no other where stupidity runs rampant in a circle that is considered to be tight as glue. I don't know about the female relationship, but the male relationship is a simple one and doesn't need explaining. Thinking is not a part of our forte for it gets in the way of enjoying things like sports or not thinking at all. Different personalities clicking in one group yet share different points of view, styles, and likes. Yet we all share a common bond and that bond can be tested at any time.
For we all have those unique quarks that can get on people's nerves. It's a quality that friends have learned to live with and even work around. It's a surprise that there hasn't been a homicide of sorts where one or the other hasn't strangled each other. Pushing buttons is always the norm in a clique but there is always a time when one knows when to back off. Long periods of time have been spent chillin' with them and one knows them better than one knows themselves and vice versa.
For there is always one in each group. The loner, the player, the chatterbox, the goofball, the daredevil, the motherly/fatherly type etc, there's always one in each group One may not see it but there are. It's a friendship when one looks back at it and thinks to oneself, "How did we all become friends?" It's a funny thing about life, the people we meet along our travels can sometimes point you in the right direction. While traveling, you get to know the passengers in the car and a kinship is formed without evening knowing it.
Let me leave you with this intersting thought. "Friends will help you move, but best friends will help you move a body. Just something to think about.

Kids Today
ATTENTION* The following views expressed below might offend some people. Do not hold it against me, but if you have another view feel free to email me about it.
Respect has lost its meaning in today's generation of kids. The lessons taught were absolutely vital in the growth of many well-adjusted kids in their early/late 20's and on. Though valued in those that grew up in the past, it has been forgotten in time, a time when kids respected the authority and wisdom of adults.
The wisdom that was shared from generation to generation was kept with great value. Yet, in today's generation it has been lost to deaf ears, in one ear, out the other so to speak. It's like they are totally ignoring anything that is being said to them and only hearing what they want to hear.
The respect that was earned is now being stomped on and kicked to the curb in a manner of speaking. What has happened to these kids of this generation? Have they been jaded by the new wonders of technology being sprouted up every which way?
In the past, kids like myself showed respect at a drop of a hat. If disrespect was given in any way, shape, or form, punishment was given swift and hard. Though painful it may seem, it has made me the person who I am today. Whereas, the generation of kids today are totally opposite and it is evident where I work.
The unorthodox methods of punishment are in reality watered down versions, which basically teaches nothing. In the past, picking out your own switch and getting the belt were just a tip of the iceberg for some people. The punishment is the same for all but the methods are different.
The generation of kids today are turning into namby pamby whiners who throw a fit when they don't get their way, and that's just my personal opinion from working with kids for the past 8 years. In my view, what this generation needs is just a swift kick in the butt to have their reality checked and checked hard. In the end, the kids of my generation are far more well-adjusted than the kids of today.

Chivalry
Chivalry among men has not been forgetten, it is just a matter of restoring such as in the days of King Arthur. Some may say there are ulterior motives for our so called good deeds and it may backfire in our faces.
Ulterior motives are not a factor, it is the basic prinicple of being a gentlemen that all men should inspire to be. Such deeds as opening a door for a lady and expect nothing back except for smile. The smile a lady gives back is payment enough for a deed that was instilled to me by my own father. If I did not utilize those basic priniciples of respect I would not see the light of day seeing that he did train with the NAVY SEALS.
If a lady falls, don't pay attention to it, quickly go ever and help her up. It is my own belief that one should never hit a lady or direspect her in any way. In my view, that is the ultimate disrespect.
It's all in how one looks at things, the way one carries himself. yet there are those that feel it is a waste of time and that the females of today are jaded. Jaded or not, it is the right way to go.
